DBX file is created by Microsoft Outlook Express which is an email program. It contains email messages which are saved in “Documents and Settings” directory on your computer. Users who use DBX should only open DBX files in Microsoft Outlook Express. Those users who edit or open DBX file manually causes the file to be corrupted and Microsoft Outlook Express will not work properly.
